Sacramental Preparation

   

 

NOVEMBER UPDATE:

Just a reminder that the deadline to register your child to enroll in the Sacramental Preparation program (First Reconciliation and First Eucharist) at At. Augustine Parish is December 22nd. For those of you who are already registered, Father Scott has informed us that the date for First Communion will likely be Saturday, April 27th during the regular 4:30 Mass. Once this date is confirmed, I will share more information.

OCTOBER UPDATE:

Father Scott held an information meeting on Wednesday, October 4th at St. Augustine Parish. If you are planning to have your child receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) and First Communion this year, and were unable to attend that meeting, you can still register your child. Please NOTE that I now have the registration form available. If you require it, please let me know and I will send it home in your child’s agenda bag. You will need to then return the form and a copy of your child’s Baptismal certificate to Father Scott at St. Augustine Parish. You are required to prepare your child using the two books available at the Parish office during office hours (Monday to Wednesday, from 9 am to 3 pm), or in the sacristy after Mass on the weekend. The cost for the books is $25.00. Please start with the Reconciliation book first, then proceed with the First Communion book.

 

Here are some of the important dates you should be aware of:

Enrollment Sunday - at all Masses on the weekend of Jan. 20th/21st (meaning you can attend either on Saturday, Jan. 20th at 4:30 or at the 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Jan. 21st.

First Communion date - there are two possible dates - either; Sunday, May 26th at 2:00 p.m. or Sunday, June 2nd at 2:00 p.m.  To be confirmed.

 

Please NOTE that the registration period closes on December 22nd. 

SEPTEMBER ENTRY/GENERAL INFORMATION:     

          Father Frank Scott is the Pastor at St. Augustine Parish.  The Church is located at 1060 Baseline Road.  Children's Liturgy takes place every Sunday at 10:30 am.  There is also a 9:00 am Mass every Sunday morning and a Saturday evening Mass at 4:30 pm.  

          Children in Grade 2 are invited to celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation (First Confession) and Eucharist (First Communion) this year.  Parents, parish and school share the responsibility of preparing the children for this important step in their faith journey.  In order to prepare for these Sacraments, you and your child will be invited to participate in several gatherings and liturgies over the course of this school year.  More information will be provided to you as it becomes available from St. Augustine Parish.
